Job Title: Design Manager
We are looking to add a leader to our Ottawa based Interior Design company. Our company has been in business since 2005 with a team of 4 full-time designers.

Lead customer inquiries, proposal development and presentation to customer, as well as contract execution.
Oversee and maintain the company's overall project schedule.
Work with designers to ensure their projects are on time, support customer escalations and ensure change orders are executed when required.
Collaborate with CFO to provide clear visibility into project schedule progress for realistic cash flow reporting.
Ensure organization maintains productive and effective relationships with our customers.
Communicate with key ecosystem partners – architectural technologists, trusted suppliers and contractors.
Work with the management team, designers, customers and partners to identify process improvements opportunities across our customer engagement process and software solutions.
Oversee the change order process and ensure it is well understood by customers so they are not surprised upon receipt.
Mentor designers and support positive career development.
Collaborate with company principals who manage marketing and product development.
Act as a collaborative member of the management team with a focus on business development and aspiration to run an interior design company.

Proven positive relationships with customers, designers and suppliers.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and self- starter.
Programming abilities to extract information and produce reports.
Familiarity with all phases of project management and comfortable with issue resolution.
Proven history of successful project completion and customer referrals.
Knowledge of industry construction costs and material costs.
Basic ability to prepare furniture cost estimates.
Creative eye in support of design development and presentation formats.

Bachelor’s degree in design or related field, with a preference for members of IDC Canada.
An eye for beautiful design.
Strong history of project management and leveraging software solutions to achieve positive results across a team.
Experience with procurement and product specification.
Experience with budget estimates and managing schedules across multiple projects.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, Revit and Sketch up.
Experience working with contractors and trades.
Experience with software packages such as TeamGantt, MYDOMA, Google Suite, Excel…
